These were but a few of the famous designs created by Jean Paul Gaultier and featured as part of his fast paced retrospective during his 30th anniversary Spring 2007 show in Paris.

Jean Paul Gaultier launched his career with biker jackets and studded black underwear that was worn as outerwear.

Waltzing Spring Fashions - Sexy Referee Costume

Smoking Up the Catwalk

As lighted smoked bellowed from the floor, male dancers in tuxedos waltzed down the runway beneath shimmering crystal chandeliers to Rufus Wainwright singing Somewhere Over The Rainbow backed up by a live 15 string live orchestra.

This event was part of the Dutch duo Viktor & Rolf - Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren - Spring 2007 fashion show during Paris Fashion Week.

Long White Lace See Through Beaded Gown

Since they first stormed the catwalks in Paris in 1997, Viktor & Rolf have been playing endless pranks on the fashion scene.

Some of their well knows pranks included showing clothes upside-down, in the dark and creating a perfume in an unopenable bottle.

The ballroom dancing themed show was all about variations on men's tuxedos for women; including fringed, embellished and drop-shouldered jackets, but by Viktor & Rolf's usual standards it was fairly tame.

The nondescript Carrousel du Louvre conference center was transformed into a ballroom complete with small tables laden with champagne buckets for the collection that drew heavily on the flesh-colored stockings and sequins familiar at dancing competitions.
