The Premier of Season 8 of Dancing with the Stars had several surprises.
Whose Hot
The team of Gilles Marini star of the movie version of Sex and the City and his partner Cheryl Burke earned the night top score of 24.
Their hot Cha Cha earned them top honors for the night and a comment from judge Tonioli that you know how to strut your stuff.
The surprised runner up for second choice was Melissa Rycroft, formerly of the Bachelor tv show, who was a late starter filling in for the injured Nancy O'Dell from Access Hollywood.
Melissa Rycroft and her partner Tony Dovolani did a very impressive Waltz that earned the couple a score of 23.

Considering that Melissa Rycroft just signed on to the show on Friday, this was indeed a very strong showing.
Melissa was left heartbroken after competing and winning on the hit TV show the Bachelor only to be rejected Jason Mesnick shortly thereafter.
She should have much better luck with Dancing with the Stars.
Rounding out the top three dance couples were the team of rapper Lil Kim and partner Derek Hough.
Derek Hough and celebrity dancer Brooke Burke won Season 7 of Dancing with the Stars, so it wasn't too surprising to see this team place third for the night. Judge Bruno Tonioli commented that she can work wonders with that tushy.
Whose Not
Rounding up the low end of the competition was World Champion rodeo cowboy and Jewel's husband Ty Murray and dance partner Chelsea Hightower.

Murray may be great at riding a bull, but his Cha Cha earned their team the second lowest score of the night a 14.
Ending up the lowest apple in the barrel was Steve Wozniak co-founder of Apple and partner Karina Smirnoff.
Their team ended up with the low score for the night of 13, definitely not a lucky number.
Judge Tonioli remarked about the performance, It was like watching a TeleTubbie go mad.

Well, geeks have been capturing beauties and hopefully they can manage to dance. Actually, Wozniak looked like he was having fun with the Cha Cha, so lets wait and see how the public "geeks" vote.
I am sure if Steve Wozniak had his Segway as a dance partner, he would sweep the competition.
